My favorite romantic read this year, and WIP up-date

Okay, so this blog is new, and I've yet to wow you with an actual blog -- yeah, I know I'm letting the side down. Sorry guys, but busy is the life of a wanna be author!

First up -- UPDATES ON WIP: I've finished today's edits on chapter seven -- and completed a blurb, of sorts. So, with a bit of free time left on my hands, I thought I'd take a moment to share the news of Slade and Kally hitting print.

A.E.Rought's Slade and Kally was my favorite romantic read from this year. If you haven't read it yet, what on earth are you waiting for? Not my usual style, no vampires or werewolves...but still, this book hooked me in within the first page. Beautifully written, I fell in love with Slade, his ranch and friends. I wish I lived there.

Just look at the cover, it's to die for! The imagery perfectly portrays the feel of this story that kept me hanging on until the very last page. Without giving too much away (we all hate spoilers) Kally is driving across country to escape from an abusive husband -- destiny strikes, and she finds herself being saved by Cowboy Slade, in the dead of a wintery, snowy night. He nurses her back to health with help from his mother's herbal teas and comfort, and his tenderness and sexyness. Their relationship grows closer, as you can guess, but many things stand in the way of this HEA, many heart racing things.

'Slade and Kally' is the first book in the 'Letting go of the Reins' series, and is now available in print at all good book stores. If they haven't got it in, ask them to order it for you :-) If you're an ebook junky like myself, have no fear, it's available as an ebook, too!

Here's a link that will take you directly to Slade and Kally by A.E.Rought at Samhain Publishing where you can read an excerpt and bookcover blurb, and find links to purchase.

Happy reading.

Do you have any favorite romantic reads from this year-- One that pulled on your heart strings and made your toes curl in anticipation for the HEA?

NOTE: No freebies were in involved in this recomendation! Simple, I love it -- and now I'm recomending it.
