SET-UP. 1989. Ryker Conall--American rocker and lead man for a hair band called Sirenic--is back in Australia and looking all kinds of Bon Jovi hot. Sadie had a fling with him back in '84, and he broke her heart when he left without goodbyes.
She's determined not to fall for him again...
Hope you enjoyed my offering for Six Sunday this week. If you happen to have missed any of my previous sixes, there's a link up in the nav bar where I've listed them should you wish to go check them out.
And don't forget to head on over to www.sixsunday.com to find more snippets from 100+ authors waiting for you to discover their work. Hey, you never know, you may find a favorite new author there.
Such a rude awakening to find out she's not as past him as she thought. The rush and crush of a rock concert crowd is impossible to escape.
ReplyDeleteNice Six, JoAnne! I can't wait to read more. :D
Should have been, but she's obviously not. LOL Can't wait to read more! :)
ReplyDeleteI had the requisite Jon Bon Jovi poster on my wall in the 80's. And the hair band thing. *cough* It was a special time. :) Great six.
ReplyDeleteGreat six. I love the setup!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite an unextinguished torch she's carrying! Nice descriptions and emotion.
ReplyDeleteLove this premise! And her voice. Congrats on your upcoming release!
ReplyDeleteWas a huge Bon Jovi fan! I look back at pictures and can't believe how big I was able to get my hair!
ReplyDeleteLoved this six...she is so not past him :)
She can try all she wants to convince herself, WE know she's not over this guy. Great six.
ReplyDeleteAwesome description!
ReplyDeleteShould be a popular read. So many women have a thing for rock stars. Congrats on your upcoming release.
ReplyDeleteI think someone's fooling herself- you never get over THAT kind of love and heart break
ReplyDeleteGreat 6

Ah, that special guy you never quite forget. And never quite get over. Writing is such a cool way to live out one's fantasies.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book!
ReplyDeleteGreat six.
ReplyDelete1980's, big hair bands, ROCK ON. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this LOL. I feel a need to listen to some 80s rock now! Great six!
ReplyDeleteToo cool. I love rock n roll romances. (It's probably one reason I write em.) Guitar heroes, heroines with big hair. Oh, baby.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so nostalgic! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove her attitude but I think she's fooling herself. Think I have to read this one, Jo. Great six!
ReplyDeleteExcellent description of the fahion from the 80's. I love the way you put out the six, it was awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery descriptive. Love the introspection of your character!
ReplyDeleteDoes spandex burn...or melt? This sounds great, Joanne!
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job capturing the atmosphere of her surroundings :)
ReplyDeleteI want to know what happened before.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such an awesome read! :)
ReplyDeleteLove 'back-to-the-past drool session'. This reminded so much of a former co-worker who was heavy into the late-70s/early-80s glam rock scene. She was tall and busty, smart and funny, and dated some well-known rockers. Man, I miss her stories! Thanks for making me smile this morning!
ReplyDeleteI could "see" your character. Great snippet. From the cover I'm guessing they have a reunion. :)
