Cheesecake flavored condoms, Succubi and Sexy Vampires

I was telling everyone how much I was looking forward to Jill Myles 'Gentlemen Prefer Succubi' which released on December 29th. It's the first in the brand new series called 'Succubi Diaries'. I more or less shouted from the roof tops about how sexy it sounded. And, in my opinion, I wasn't wrong.

I gobbled up Gentlemen Prefer Succubi like it was a Five Guys burger. (YUMMM)

Well, not literally. I didn't EAT it. I raced through it. That would be a better way to put it.

It delivered everything the blurb promised, and more. In fact, as soon as I finished the last page, I went straight to the Sony Estore and brought 'Succubi Like it Hot', which is book two.

With a mischievous, quick tongued vampire (sexy, too of course) and a suave serim (fallen angel) fighting for her attention, my god that newly made Succubus Jackie has it good. Her good friend and fellow succubus, Remi just cracks me up, too. Jill's work is full of double entendres and is quick witted all the way.

Here’s the blurbs to wet your appetite:

Midnight Breed Series

Okay, I confess. I am a mad Midnight Breed fanatic. I just love those alien breed vampires who are alpha is so many ways, yet have soft centers when it comes to Breed Mates in distress.

For those who aren't familiar with the series yet, and love vampires, shame on you. Here's a mini introduction--Lara has created a very dark, sensous world where vampires are of alien nature and there is a certain 'breed' of women that they can mate with, feed from and have little breed warrior babies with. They are called Breed Mates. Breed Mates, when fed with vampire blood, can live as long as her vampire partner, although they are still human.

No, the Warriors don't just run around looking for their mate. They are way too preocupied with protecting us from rouge vampires who are filled with blood lust, and, of course, there's the dreaded First Generation vampire who has been brought back to life 'so to speak by the Lead Breed Warriors' evil brother.
It's just, those Breed Mates keep getting in the way of a good evil plot, and end up sending a warrior into a frenzy of love and lust and always leading to the happy ever after I love in a good romance.

The Midnight Breed books are fast paced, full of action, romance and very racy bedroom scenes.

So, why am I telling you about my fanatic love for Lara's world of vampires? Well (SQUEEE) the next instalment is due end of December, and I can hardly wait. Also, drumrole, Lara is doing an awesome competition where some lucky winners will be the proud owner of some signed merchandise.

My favorite romantic read this year, and WIP up-date

Okay, so this blog is new, and I've yet to wow you with an actual blog -- yeah, I know I'm letting the side down. Sorry guys, but busy is the life of a wanna be author!

First up -- UPDATES ON WIP: I've finished today's edits on chapter seven -- and completed a blurb, of sorts. So, with a bit of free time left on my hands, I thought I'd take a moment to share the news of Slade and Kally hitting print.

A.E.Rought's Slade and Kally was my favorite romantic read from this year. If you haven't read it yet, what on earth are you waiting for? Not my usual style, no vampires or werewolves...but still, this book hooked me in within the first page. Beautifully written, I fell in love with Slade, his ranch and friends. I wish I lived there.

Just look at the cover, it's to die for! The imagery perfectly portrays the feel of this story that kept me hanging on until the very last page. Without giving too much away (we all hate spoilers) Kally is driving across country to escape from an abusive husband -- destiny strikes, and she finds herself being saved by Cowboy Slade, in the dead of a wintery, snowy night. He nurses her back to health with help from his mother's herbal teas and comfort, and his tenderness and sexyness. Their relationship grows closer, as you can guess, but many things stand in the way of this HEA, many heart racing things.

'Slade and Kally' is the first book in the 'Letting go of the Reins' series, and is now available in print at all good book stores. If they haven't got it in, ask them to order it for you :-) If you're an ebook junky like myself, have no fear, it's available as an ebook, too!

Here's a link that will take you directly to Slade and Kally by A.E.Rought at Samhain Publishing where you can read an excerpt and bookcover blurb, and find links to purchase.

Happy reading.

Do you have any favorite romantic reads from this year-- One that pulled on your heart strings and made your toes curl in anticipation for the HEA?

NOTE: No freebies were in involved in this recomendation! Simple, I love it -- and now I'm recomending it.
