Party 'Til Your Heels Fly Off Author Blog Hop - Come celebrate 75 years of Gone with the Wind!
Welcome to my addition to the party author blog hop -- Here, at my blog, I'm celebrating 75 years of Gone With The Wind... so get your ball gowns on, and swirl into the world of Scarlett O' Hara and Rhett Butler. I won't ramble on about how much I adore this movie. Nope! Instead, I'll offer up some entertainment with some youtube videos and my favorite scene... ENJOY!
"Great balls of fire. Don't bother me anymore, and don't call me sugar. " -- Scarlett O'Hara
"I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow." -- Scarlett O'Hara
You need to be kissed
RHETT: You will, though. And another thing. Those pantalets. I don't know a woman in Paris wears pantalets anymore.
SCARLETT: What do they... you shouldn't talk about such things.
RHETT: You little hypocrite, you don't mind my knowing about them, just my talking about them.
SCARLETT: Rhett, I really can't go on accepting these gifts. Though you
are awfully kind.
RHETT: I'm not kind, I'm just tempting you. I never give anything without expecting something in return. I always get paid.
SCARLETT: If you think I'll marry you just to pay for the bonnet, I won't.
RHETT: Don't flatter yourself, I'm not a marrying man.
SCARLETT: Well, I won't kiss you for it, either.
So... are you ready to re-visit this classic romance? Well...Jo to the rescue!

well not 6 'cuz I don't really do google XD I love how STRONG Scarlett is! Maybe not physically but emotionally and mentally, she does break down occasionally but when it comes down to it.... Her upbringing as a Southern Belle shines through.
well I never did read the book and I saw the movie so long ago I don't remember! I loved all the beautiful dressess!! guess I need to win this one and read the book!! :) shannonjean14(at)gmail(dot)com
@iandssmom You know, I'm ashamed to say I've never read the book before either -- when I realized the book was published 75 years ago this year, I decided to change that this summer. And I thought, why not hold a contest for someone to read it, too! I bet we're not the only ones. WOOT And even those who have read it, I bet a lot of copies are old and ready for replacement :) So here's their/your chance to get one for free! YEAY So...comment away for your chance to win.
@shadowestr Strong woman she is indeed, but also very stubborn. LOL
And don't forget to pop on over to my Goodreads giveaway if you fancy a free paperback copy of Mullo, my para rom mystery! Link is top left of this page :) Nice big widget, so not hard to find :)
ive never read the book but i have watched the movie plenty of times one of my favs lol. i really should read the book as well. its a classic and normally books are better then movies. thanks for being part of the blog hop sweets.
I have an original copy of Gone With The Wind Book, and have watched the movie many times. I love the Scarlett coming down the stairs scene. I entered the Goodreads giveaway! I am a Google Follower! Thanks! Rebecca rbooth43(at)yahoo(dot)com
Hey thanks for the giveaway^^ I've never actually read the book or seen the movie (hides away in shame) but I will check it out now it looks great^^ I follow you (MelissaSanchezDempsey and tweeted about the contest (@MelissaDempsey1) melissasanchezdempsey@hotmail.com
I did all six! :) I am stinababy6891 on youtube! :)
As for # 2, I've never read Gone with the Wind, but I use the phrase, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" often and am suprised that I didn't know it came from that sooner.
Please don't hurt me, but I am not a big fan of the time period that Gone With The Wind was set in. I know, I know. Bad me. But anyway, I have always loved this quote "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.". I think I got it right.
The first movie I ever saw at an indoor theater was Gone With the Wind! LOL Our little town only had a drive-in until I was twelve. That dates me! I just love Scarlett's declaration, and I hope I quote it right, "As God as my witness, I'll never go hungry again!" A woman's got to do what a woman's got to do.
My favorite part of Gone with the Wind is when Scarlett uses the thick green velvet curtains to make herself a dress. She carries the look with such "flair".
I read the book back in high school as leisure reading LOL Loved it, agonized over that ending for months afterward. Then I read the sequel. Agonized over that ending too.
My favorite scene from GWTW? There are really too many to pick just one :-)
My favorite scene is when Rhett carries her up the steps 'cause you know he's going to rock her southern world and take the twang right out of her accent.
I never read the book! Now that you made me feel guilty, I better surreptitiously add it as a to-read. I love the utube video. GFC Krystal Larson edysicecreamlover18@gmailDOTcom tweeted http://twitter.com/#!/Icecream1891 I wish I had a utube account, but I don't :( Thank you for the giveaway!
OMG how did I miss this blogfest?! GWTW is my all-time fave movie and book.
