#snippetsunday - Not The Best Place To Be - SEAL THE DAY #selkie

And here we are once again...hi! Thanks for stopping my Snippet Sunday post. (Yes, that's my nifty little logo I made for this post - Sixers, feel free to use it in your SS posts. And the banner below.)
Even though we're not Six Sunday anymore, I figured I'd stay within those specs because, well, just because. For this six, I've jumped ahead to when Anne is prepping to meet Finn for the first time. For previous snippets, go here: SNIPPETS

As usual, a little warning. It's pre-edits so there may be boo-boos and no-nos.

Oh. Oh. Oh. And I have great news to report for those who haven't caught my updates around the social networks. SEAL THE DEAL, Isle of Man and Selkie bk1, was acquired by www.DecadentPublishing.com BLURB CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://www.joannekenrick.com/p/coming-soon_26.html
Wheee. Feel free to throw your confetti and shake your pom-poms! I have ;) And thanks so much for all your finger crossing and well wishes. xx smooches xx

A chill raced down Anne Ward’s spine. She wrapped a woolen shawl tight around her chest as the bitter wind sliced through her clothes and prickled her skin. The terrace of The Promenade Golf resort, high on a cliff, was not the best place to be during high winds. Yet there she stood, killing time, trying to catch her breath before her date arrived. Full of nerves. Her hands balled and her stomach ached. -- (c) JoAnne Kenrick, all rights reserved.

  1. Cold, windy AND worried? I'd be pretty tight-muscled, too,
I grabbed your banner, btw. Thanks.

  2. Congrats on the contract! Love the artwork, too, and the snippet is so wonderfully described it made me cold--and tense--just to read it.

  3. That's awesome news about the contract. Way to go! The wind in your snippet sounds an awful lot like Michigan wind which has a way of getting into the very center of bone and setting up residence.

Your word selection makes me think your character is very lonely.

  12. Why are they meeting on a cliff?
Seems like a scary place to meet a date...

Thank you sooooo much for the banner and logo. They look awesome! I grabbed them both already. :-) Is it okay if I post them as pics on the Facebook page? I wanted to check with you first before doing so.
